Today we are going to talk about this software update – what is new, when will it be released, which devices will be eligible for it, and why this update is trending so much. So let’s start without wasting time.

Samsung’s One UI brings a new version every year which is based on the latest update of Android. This time One UI 7 is coming with Android 15, and this is a big upgrade which will be helpful in enhancing the experience of Samsung phones and tablets.

This update is going to roll out from April 2025, and it will bring AI-driven features, a fresh design, and smooth performance. People are talking about it on social media, especially on X, as Samsung has made some bold changes this time which is exciting the users.

The official rollout of One UI 7 will begin from 7 April 2025, starting with Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. This update will also reach other devices later. This news was announced in March 2025, and since then fans are waiting for it impatiently.

Let’s now go into detail about what’s special in this update.Fresh Design and UI ChangesOne UI 7 is coming with a new look. Home screen is now more simple and customizable. App icons have been redesigned – they have been made more colorful and vibrant.

A new feature named “Now Bar” has been added to the lock screen, which will show real-time updates like music controls or navigation info, without unlocking the phone. Quick settings panel is also different – now it will be easy to switch between notifications and settings with swipe gestures.

This time a lot of focus is being given on AI. With the “AI Select” feature, you can select things from videos or photos and edit them, like converting a video to a GIF.

“Writing Assist” will now work everywhere – select text and get AI help for grammar, tone, or summary. There is also “Drawing Assist”, which lets you create cool images from sketches or text prompts. All these features will work on devices like Galaxy S24, S23, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6.

The interface of the Camera app has also been redesigned, which will be more convenient for one-handed use. The “Audio Eraser” feature can be capable of removing unwanted noise from videos, and “Portrait Studio” can give a natural look to photos. These features will be more effective on high-end models.

Knox Matrix Dashboard is a new addition that shows the security status of all your Samsung devices in one place. There is also an option to process AI features on-device for privacy, meaning the data will not go out of the phone.

Now let’s talk about the release date. Samsung has officially said that the stable version of One UI 7 will roll out from 7 April 2025, first for Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6. In the US, it will start from 10 April.

After this, it will gradually reach the Galaxy S23 series, S24 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S10/S9 series. Mid-range devices like Galaxy A55 may have to wait a little longer, maybe till late April or May.

Beta testing started in December 2024, and so far 6 beta builds have been released for the Galaxy S24. The beta program was expanded in March, which included devices like Z Fold6, Z Flip6, S23 series, and Tab S10. Now the countdown for the stable version has started!

Samsung has confirmed One UI 7 for 34 devices so far, and the list could grow longer.

Here are some eligible devices:

  • Galaxy S Series: S25 (launched with One UI 7), S24, S23, S22, S21.
  • Galaxy Z Series: Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, Z Fold4, Z Flip4 Galaxy.
  • Tab Series: Tab S10, Tab S9, Tab S8, Tab S6 Lite (2024).
  • Galaxy A Series: A55 (included in beta), and possibly A54, A53 later.

As per Samsung’s 7-year update policy, flagships and mid-range devices launched from 2021 will also be included in this. You will have to wait for some time for the exact list, but this update will come first in confirmed devices.

This update is a big moment for Samsung because competitors like Google and OnePlus have already rolled out their Android 15 updates. Samsung is definitely a bit late, but its focus is on a polished experience.

This delay can also be to make the user experience better, bugs can be fixed and a smooth update can be given. After the launch in January with the Galaxy S25 series, now this update will start a new chapter for older devices.

To check for updates on your phone, click on Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Keep the battery full, check storage, and stay connected to Wi-Fi (especially for mid-range devices like A55, where Wi-Fi is mandatory for the beta). The rollout will happen region-wise, so be patient.

One UI 7 is an update that brings a perfect mixture of design, functionality, and AI for Samsung Galaxy users. This is a trending topic because it will bring something new for every user from flagship to mid-range.

This rollout starting from April 7 will be a big celebration for Samsung fans. So keep your phone ready, and when the update comes let me know how you liked it! Are you also excited for this update? Do say so in the comments, and if you liked this article then don’t forget to share it
